WanderHackr is an independent travel site created by Gil DeSaant. It focuses on the details that make a trip easier to plan: how a city moves, what everyday costs look like, where food fits into the day and which small discoveries are worth knowing before you arrive.

Who writes WanderHackr?

I’m Gil, a traveler, photographer and lifelong internet nerd. I like getting lost in new cities, finding great food, walking way more than necessary and figuring things out as I go. WanderHackr is where I share the places, experiences and little discoveries I’d want someone to tell me about before a trip.

How the articles are made

WanderHackr combines first-hand observation and photography with research from official transport operators, tourism boards, museums, airports and other primary sources. Time-sensitive facts such as fares, opening hours, routes and entry rules are dated or linked so you can verify them before traveling. When an article is updated, the goal is to keep the useful experience while checking the details that may have changed.
